I just started writing (well creatively that is. I always had to do it for school) this year, and I think I am pretty good at writing poetry, so I feel like sharing some. Please let me know your thoughts.
Look to the Sky
I wish just wanting to do something Would give you the ability to do it. The soul wants to fly, But the body doesn’t have wings.
Each day goes by in frustration, As you flap your arms so hard you can barely feel them. But you never even rise above the ground. The soul wants to fly, But the body doesn’t have wings.
And whenever you look to the sky, Feel the wind’s sweet caress on your face, Your soul screams out in agony As you recall a lost dream. You look away; but the feeling you can never erase.
The soul wants to fly, But the body doesn’t have wings

The Land of Mist and Shadow
In the land of mist and shadow, Fantasy reigns, and you never have to face your fears. You can spend all the time you want hiding in the dark corners of your heart Longing over what might have been and what could have been If only… In the land of mist and shadow, Your dreams come alive. And you never have to wonder what might have been or what could have been Because it already happened there.
In the land of mist and shadow, No one can betray you, no one can hurt you No one can inflict scars on your soul.
But the only thing you have to be careful of, Is the fragility of mist, the dangers of shadow. Because once you are there, you can never return.

The Lost Dream
Hair of flaming red Eyes of brightest green Whenever I think about you, It is like recalling a lost dream.
The time we spent together, Always having fun Is years past; That time together is now done.
I am trying to forget you, Like you have me; Moving our friendship into something of the past But I cannot.
You mock me, you scorn me, You hate me, you shorn* me. But whenever I look into your eyes, I remember.
And every hateful comment Coming forth from your lips Feels like someone sticking a knife in my heart Wouldn’t it be easier to forget? Alas I cannot.
*shorn: to deprive of something as if by cutting
(I've been told all of my poetry is dark, deep, and depressing. Sorry. That's just how I write. But I really am a happy person most of the times!)

Yeah, I just started writing poetry this year. So I have been writing for like a year now (no... maybe it was 6 months. I don't really remember exactly when)
I actually just wrote one about Yuki, too. That's at home as well so I will put that up with the others.

Woohoo! I'm glad you like them. Here are some more:
What I would give
What I would give to be loved, By anyone, especially you. To be looked upon and really seen And in that gaze: love, adoration For me.
You have such charisma and chivalry, Loved by everyone around. Your smile brightens my day, Your laughter brings down the rays of the sun abound. Your hair unkempt, un-styled, looks perfect in every way. How I long to run my hands through those shining locks!
What I would give just once, To feel your touch, mayhap a caress? What I would give for a glance in my direction, An acknowledgement that you feel the same.
As I lament over you, who I have barely met I may as well begin writing the dirge for this love. Do you even know I exist? Will your smile ever be for me?

Look at all the Seashells
People live under the ocean; people live under the sea Cowering from the seaweed—if I don’t think about it, it will keep away from me. Wasting away the hours; wasting away the days Looking at pretty seashells, I wish it could stay this way.
Alas comes tomorrow, And with it all the sorrows Wherever you run, they follow. Look at all the pretty seashells

Wouldn't it be Nice
I don’t want to lose anything. Wouldn’t it be nice if things would never change? To wake up each morning and have things exactly as they were the day before. To never have to worry… about anything. And float through life like a piece of wood being carried along a stream.
Wouldn’t it be nice not to have any responsibilities? To wake up each day and know exactly what was going to happen. To know your purpose And your actions before you carry them out. To have all the time in the world to do whatever you want.
But, alas, these things can only be expressed in poems. For you may wake up tomorrow or you might wake up in twenty years Wond’ring how you could have missed such things. Death, Birth, Change. Time. Will always be there And sneak up upon you when you are least aware.

Betrayal
Revenge seeps into your soul. You become obsessed with my alienation, Loneliness. And you succeed, initially.
You scathe my soul with your harsh words, Break through my strong barriers Built to keep those like you out. But you knew how to open them, Because I used to let you in.
You used to be held dearest to my heart. But you betrayed my trust, And you won’t tell me why!
The things you used to say to me Were filled with kindness, friendship. Now I am lucky to be ignored.
But hurting me isn’t enough for you. Revenge becomes a tidal wave, taking over your soul. You cut me every day , Ripping open the old scars, keeping them new.
What happened to you?

*mouth drops open* Wow! Those are fantastic!! I really, really like them all. I am sort of the same way, a somewhat outgoing, cheery person, but my poems are all deep, dark and depressing.

Thank you so much everyone! ;D
Yeah... my brother is always on me to write some happy poems, but you really can't choose how they come out a lot of the times, you know? I do have a few happy poems (well... not happy exactly, but not as depressing and dark)
